Omnyx’s vision is to transform pathology departments worldwide by digitizing anatomic pathology.

For us, the first step in this transformation requires an Integrated Digital Pathology (IDP) system. This is about integrating all the components necessary to enhance research performance throughout the pathology ecosystem and the healthcare enterprise. Specifically, we enable:

  • Improved research performance for individual pathologists through increased efficiencies and the elimination of manual, clerical tasks

  • Improved research performance for the entire pathology department through seamless distribution of resources, increased control in histology and enhanced efficiencies and productivity

Simply Put: We asked pathologists what they needed. We heeded their advice – and then we built a solution that directly correlates with the way they work.

This collaborative process took more than two years. During this time we worked with more than 30 thought leading pathologists from 13 academic medical centers and research laboratories around the globe – including hands-on input from UPMC pathologists. Additionally, we conducted extensive research with Carnegie Mellon University that closely studied pathologists’ process, culture, information sources,  along with interactions with peers and other hospital colleagues, including the interaction with and importance of the histology process.

Close collaboration with users and customers is part of our culture and is an important part of our ongoing innovation.  This results in highly usable, intuitive solutions that provide performance benefits to pathologists and the entire enterprise.
